Local Help Crawley Charity

Here At Last

Your Charity

Yes Crawley (West Sussex) Residents Only

We have been Listening to YOU

For some time we have been aware that there is a desperate need for HELP in Crawley and wherever possible we have been catering for that need.

Crawley Happy Times (CHT) and Gatwick Diamond Rotary Club (GDRC) have joined forces to create a dedicated Charity and website to help the people of Crawley.

If you are a resident of Crawley we need your help to raise funds for those less fortunate than ourselves who live in Crawley that may need our help.  Maybe as well as donating you might also be able to spare some of your valuable time to help us.

You can rest assured that if you give money to Local Help Crawley (LHC) it will only go to worthy causes in Crawley.

Rotary is a well known organisation (Established over 100 Years Ago) with over 30,000 Clubs throughout the world and every penny raised by Rotary goes to the designated Charity for onward distribution. Rotary already have a well established relationship with the community of Crawley which will go along way to making this new project very successful and beneficial.

CHT has become a trusted source of local information on news, events and positive feedback for Crawley. http://www.crawleyhappytimes.co.uk/ has a combined readership of well over 50,000 on a monthly basis and is growing on a week by week basis. We feel CHT have their finger on the pulse of the people and therefore are a great source for hearing, or being informed of, needy causes which Local Help Crawley may be able to assist with.

As more and more people use the internet on a daily basis Crawley Happy Times is the perfect medium for keeping Crawley residents informed on what is happening in our town.

This is why CHT and GDRC are the perfect partnership for this new project.

We look forward to hearing from you if you feel you would like to be involved in any aspect of Local Help Crawley….a modern charity for a modern town.

Why Gatwick Diamond?

We are a GEM of a club for several reasons

Our name Gatwick Diamond derives from the Business Development Area we are in the middle of.

By an amazing quirk of fate we are the 60TH (DIAMOND) Club in Region 1250 and when formed it was also the Diamond Jubilee of Crawley New Town being given the Green Light in November 1947 and also the Diamond Jubilee of the Queens Wedding.

The Gatwick Diamond is an important economic area, centred on Gatwick Airport, situated between London and Brighton.

Its wealth generation in terms of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) makes it one of the first choices in the UK to set up, operate and grow businesses.

By bringing together business leaders, Surrey and West Sussex County Councils, six local authorities and other organisations, there have been major advances in planning, transport improvements and development opportunities.

Their Vision is that by 2016 the Gatwick Diamond will be a world-class internationally recognised business location.

At the Gatwick Diamond Rotary Club we are looking for a wide spectrum of talents that we can tap into so as to be able to respond quickly & efficiently to any situation that might occur. We want to concentrate on helping the Local Community wherever possible but at the same time respond immediately to any emergency anywhere in the world that might occur whilst continuing to bring in new members from all walks of life who want to help us achieve this objective.

It is team effort that has got us this far and we will continue to work together to build our club for the future. We will continue to embrace technology wherever possible and we are already listed on the front page of Google under Gatwick Diamond. In the first six positions under Rotary in Gatwick and listed twice on the front page under Rotary in Crawley.

We need a multiplicity of ideas and skills for our club to be ready for the 21st century, and we are well on the way to achieving that already.

We aim to change the Public’s perception of Rotary and introduce a new dynamism. Namely we want a young and vibrant club of all, ages, sexes, creeds & job capabilities that we can tap into so as to be able to respond quickly & efficiently to any situation that might occur, whether locally or on the International front. We already have a multiplicity of ideas and skills in our club but you can never have too many.

We will continue to invite new member to join our team using technology and the media wherever possible to help us in this objective. Our objective is to achieve Diamond Membership in our Club and to become a real Gem of a Club.

GDRC and Corporate Social Responsibility

The Gatwick Diamond Rotary Club practices Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and is a Founder Member of Crawley Borough Council CSR initiative.
How can Local Businesses get involved

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is being introduced by more and more Local Businesses but many do not know how to help or implement it.

Rotary is at the heart of the Local Community and because of its instantly recognisable reputation is one of the first organisations to be approached by the Local Community when funding is required.

At the moment because of our size we are unable to assist these very good causes and are looking for closer links with Local Businesses to help us with fund raising.

If you are able to spare one evening a week and would like to help the Local Community that you live in we would like to hear from you.
