Rotary Awareness Day 23rd February

Written By: GDRCMultiMedia On 15/05/2010 Time (15:51:51)

After the recent and very successful Thanks for Life - End Polio Now campaign throughout RIBI, we are pleased to announce that Rotary Day – Thanks for Life will continue in the forthcoming Rotary year 2010-2011.

The aims are broadly as before:
• to raise awareness and publicity for Rotary
• to increase our membership
• to obtain funds for polio in furtherance of the $200 million Bill Gates Challenge

We are now up to $121 million but there is still some way to go.

The number of reported cases of polio continues to decrease and the WHO (World Health Organisation) figure for 2010, as at the 27th April, was 84 cases worldwide.

We are still in need of the final push and the eradication of polio continues to be top of the list for RI.
