<description>I agree with John Strapac with 33,334 throughout the world we have a supurb networking opportunity. The new electronic database on the Rotary International website is the perfect place for this to take place. All that would be required is for additional fields to be added to include company name, address, contact details and work category.
With a simple search facility members could put in a search for example a solicitor, in Surrey in the UK and up would pop a list.
If members did not wish to participate they would mark the entry in the database accordingly.
As we need to attract younger people into Rotary they will want to access fellow Rotarians to do business with them.
An example of categorised searches can be found on www.checkatrade.com

<description>I believe that if rotary is to survive into the 21st Century it must adapt and take on whatever new technology comes along.
We need members whether or not they communicate face to face or by email is irrelevant as long as those clubs continue to raise money for good causes and help the local community.
In April 2009 there were 85 Rotary Clubs on Twitter and in April 2011 there are now 850. Our Club with a Twitter id of RotaryGDRC use is for monitoring what other clubs are doing and it helps us as a new club with ideas for events.
We believe that there is no point in reinventing the Rotary Wheel but use whatever technology is around to make our lives easier.

<description>In this day and age we need to keep all our options open.
Our Rotary Club has 100% workers and we find it very difficult to attend 50% of meetings during the current recession.
However because we all have email and mobile phone we keep in constant contact with each other by email and text.
This does not detract from our normal club but supplements
Geoff Williamson.

		<description>Joining a Rotary Club is one of the best ways of helping the Local Community as all Members are dedicated to following the Rotary Motto &quot;SERVICE ABOVE SELF&quot;

To join any Club you will need to visit your Local Club and you will be welcomed by all as volunteers in the current economic climate are like gold dust.

As far as CSR is involved Companies that really believe in CSR should ensure that at least one member of their staff should join a Local Charity, whether that be Rotary, Lions, Inner Wheel or just a Local Area Action Group. By joining such an organisation that member of staff gets a better understanding of Local issues which they can then feed back into their Companies.

At the Gatwick Diamond Rotary Club we are always looking for willing volunteers to help us with our projects and the Local Community.

If you are interested in finding out more about Rotary please come along to our Tuesday Evening meetings from 6:30pm which are held at:

Real Barbecue and Bar
1 Peterhouse Parade
Pound Hill
Crawley
West Sussex
RH10 3BA
Visitors are always welcome.

Please send all correspondence to
