The new electronic database on the Rotary International website is the perfect place for this to take place. All that would be required is for additional fields to be added to include company name, address, contact details and work category. With a simple search facility members could put in a search for example a solicitor, in Surrey in the UK and up would pop a list. If members did not wish to participate they would mark the entry in the database accordingly. As we need to attract younger people into Rotary they will want to access fellow Rotarians to do business with them. We need members whether or not they communicate face to face or by email is irrelevant as long as those clubs continue to raise money for good causes and help the local community. Our Rotary Club has 100% workers and we find it very difficult to attend 50% of meetings during the current recession. However because we all have email and mobile phone we keep in constant contact with each other by email and text. This does not detract from our normal club but supplements Geoff Williamson.
