Facebook
What is it?
Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, Facebook has more than 750 million active users. Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Facebook users must register before using the site. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics. The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other better. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the website.
The Gatwick Diamond Rotary Club is using Facebook as a means to tell everyone what we are doing but also to keep in touch with all Facebook registered clubs throughout the World to help us develop ideas for campaigns to raise our profile and monies for Charity. Why reinvent the Rotary Wheel.

eCademy
Ecademy is a Business Social Network founded in 1998 now with millions of users of the site each year worldwide.
Ecademy enables business people to connect through online networking using social media tools, at business networking events and 1-2-1 meetings – a community that advocates, connects and helps one another.
Using the tools and resources that Ecademy has developed, a small business can quickly and effectively find the right kind of people it needs to grow. Ecademy allows you to search and attract the exact people you would like to meet 24 hours a day from your office or home.
Having a powerful online presence can also help you to position yourself as an expert, become more visible in your marketplace, establish credibility and leverage your existing products and services.
To build a strong business relationship, you must first gain trust from one another through having a personal relationship, this is critical before you can expect to move onto a relationship where a transaction or a referral can take place.
Relationships > Trust > Trade
Ecademy has particular values we stand by, these are:
1.Openness
2.Honesty
3.Transparency
4.Friendship & Kinship
5.Winning by Sharing
6.Connectedness and being connected – the old Chinese belief known as GuanXi
7.Connecting People to what they seek, finding them that match, that job, that customer, that supplier, that direction, that life
The next 10 years have started with the launch of a new area on Ecademy, The Institute of Networking where we have information and links to networking resources including brand new training videos that show you how to maximise your network and business on Ecademy, all the videos are freely available to all Ecademy members
